As you all know Valentine's day is coming up soon. The holiday is on February 14th, and it's the day everyone celebrates love. People can celebrate love in different ways with different people.
Valentine's day isn't only for couples. I believe friends can celebrate Valentine's day too because they love and care about each other. Valentine's day is the time, when romance is in the air and people admiring one another.
There are many things to do on Valentine’s day. People can go on dates, have a romantic dinner at home, or get their groove on (*wink wink*), etc.
However, some people don’t like going out and they would rather watch movies with their significant other on the couch.
If you are that person, who wants to stay inside on Valentine’s day and watch movies with a friend or that special person, then here are five movies I recommend to watch on Valentine’s day:
1. 50 First Dates (2004)

50 First Dates is an American romantic comedy film directed by Peter Segal and written by George Wing. The main stars of the movie are Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. In the movie, Henry Roth (Adam Sandler) is a man, who is afraid of commitments. Until he meets Lucy (Drew Barrymore) at a restaurant. She’s everything Henry wanted in the girl. They hit it off pretty well in the beginning, until he discovers she has short-term memory loss and she forgets him the very next day. This movie shows people love always prevails, even when the person you love has short-term memory loss and forgets about you every day.
2. When Harry Met Sally (1989)

When Harry Met Sally is a classic romantic comedy directed by Rob Reiner, featuring Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal. Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) have known each other for years. They become good friends throughout the years, but at first, Harry and Sally didn’t hit it off the first time they met. Also, when they became good friends, they feared sex would ruin their friendship. The whole movie revolves around this one question: “Can a man and a woman be friends, without having sexual attractions to one another?” Well, can they? Watch the movie and find out.
3. Pretty Woman (1990)

Pretty Woman is a romantic comedy movie directed by Garry Marshall from a screenplay written by J. F. Lawton. The movie features Julia Roberts as Vivian Ward and Richard Gere as Edward Lewis. In the movie, Edward runs a legal, but hurtful business. He needs an escort to attend social events, so he hires a prostitute named Vivian and eventually falls in love with her. This movie shows that love can happen unexpectedly and in various situations. It’s not like those traditional romantic comedies, in which the girl and boy fall in love. It’s better and unique in its own ways.
4. The Notebook (2004)

The Notebook is a classic Nicholas Sparks book, turned into a wonderful romantic drama movie that everyone has to see. The film was directed by Nick Cassavetes. The movie featured the dreamy and gorgeous actor Ryan Gosling, who portrays Noah and the beautiful and stunning Rachel McAdams, who portrays Allie. The Notebook is about a young, a lower class, and a passionate man named Noah. He falls in love with a rich, young woman named Allie. Throughout the movie, they both go through trouble because of their social differences, however, they eventually find their way back to each other. If you want a good emotional cry, then The Notebook is the movie to watch as the movie shows the true meaning of love.
5.Dirty Dancing (1987)

Dirty Dancing is a romantic and dramatic film. The film has amazing choreography and the best soundtrack, you’ll ever hear; close second to The Breakfast Club soundtrack, of course. The main characters of the movie are the hunky Patrick Swayze and the glamorous Jennifer Grey. The film was directed by Emile Ardolino. The film is about Frances "Baby" Houseman (Jennifer Grey) falling in love with the bad boy camp dancer Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze), during her family summer vacation at a holiday camp. When watching the movie, you will fall in love with the soundtrack, along with saying the memorable dialogue: "Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner."
